Safari Renames Redline Update Downloads
Updates for the Redline version of the Raspberry Pi image are distributed as tar.gz files.
If you are using Safari to download the update and copy to the controller via USB it can, in some cases, uncompress and rename the file without warning.
Depending on your Safari settings, it will automatically uncompress and rename the update file. If this occurs, Safari removes the .gz extension and the update will not be recognized by the software.
To prevent Safari from modifying the file, open the General tab of Safari's preferences and ensure that it is set to not open safe files.
Alternatively, browsers such as Chrome will download the file without modifying it.
